Had my first Post surgery PSA drawn on Monday. They finally called me today and stated that I have a 0 They could detect NOTHING!!!  

Its like an emotioinal rollercoaster dealing with this cancer. When I talked to Dr. on Monday (First actually in person meeting since Davinci) He told me it was good I had the surgery when I did. They actually found some of the type 5 cancer cells but left my Gleason at 3+4 = 7.

With my Positive Margin he is recommending testing every 6 months and if I would hit .1 to then start radiation.

So I'm taking my 0 with happiness for now and will be retested in the Spring.

Great news! Your doc can't be too worried if he has you on 6 month testing -- they generally do 3 months for the problematic cases. Anyway, concentrate on healing and on living.

Congratulations on your first zero. I hope that you will continue this trend for the rest of your life. My doctor also had me on the 6 months intervals but, because of my high Gleason I requested to be tested every 3 months for the first few times.

Congratulations on your great Zero. My first post-op PSA is 0.05, also a very good result.

I really know what you mean by emotional rollercoaster. I was diagnosed in early June and felt like I'd fallen off the world. Getting a surgery date helped a lot, and positive post-op reports have let me stop holding my breath so much. I've been through a crisis before (I'm an alcoholic - in sobriety for 19 years) and that helped a lot too. I'm living with cancer the same as with alcoholism, one day at a time...

Larry, Congrats on the Zero! I had 3+4 Gleson 7 and my Dr does PSA every 3 months. At least that has been the case for the first year. I will find out tomorrow if we will shift to 6 months.

Welcome to the club Larry and I hope you will remain a zero club member forever. Well since I am the president of the club I am in a recruiting mode because I need the additional funds from the dues. LOL
Congrats my friend now please go out and write that new chapter in the book of life. Be thankful for all the blessings you have I bet there are many.
