Cost of IMRT treatments

For supplemental insurance purposes, I asked for and got a partial billing of my radiation treatments so far.  It is a lot of money, but believe it or not, its half the price that it was 10 years ago when I went through radiation.

These are the charges for each day's zap:

IMRT 2,550

X-rays  400

Total:  2,950.

They take from 1-4 Snap X-ray images of my prostate bed daily, depending on how much alignment problems they have.

So we are looking at 3,000 a day roughly.  That's close to 90K USD for the zaps, don't know the charges yet for the set-up work, the planning, or the radiation oncologists fees.

The money person at the clinic said this was the price they negoitated with my wife's insurance. She said it could be double that with other insurance carriers
