tHANKS TC.
I'm actually quite fine and totally comfortable in the steps I've taken. Of course, I am starting to get a little anxious as the surgery date nears. I'm still almost 2 weeks away.
The big test will be the ensuing pathology.
One of my concerns has been some continuing back problems. It all totally went away and I was joyously back in the gym Saturday, but yesterday some of the leg pain resumed after teaching for 4 hours (all lecture, on my feet, animated and feeling fine). It started acting up during an office hour after the classes. Here I thought I was done with that problem. On the positive side, it is not nearly as bad as it was earlier and today it is quite a bit better.
I am not in the best of shape. I used to work out 3 times a week for about 2 hours each time. I would do the treadmill for about an hour (3-4 miles worth), then lift weights, and then reward myself with a hydromassage. I want to get back to doing some of that. I still have 2 weeks to do this.
Frankly, I have found HW to be VERY supportive in general. I also don't mind the disagreements at all. If anything, it allows me to think again regarding my choices. No doubts have been implanted. Hopefully some wisdom comes with age and I can sift through and evaluate suggestions made!
Unfortunately, with this disease you can make the right choices but still have a poor outcome. That's the worry we all have.

P.S.: When does one qualify as a VETERAN member of HW?
If one retires, can he get a watch?
