Back from Surgery

Thanks to all for the kind words before I went into surgery Wednesday. According to the Doctor is was a pretty uneventful and smooth procedure (I opted for the open). I was out after two hours and only lost 450ml of blood. Recovery was a bit dicey as they didn't have a bed for me so I spent 6 hours on my back - but morphine does wonders! I passed gas, or so I thought, on Thursday morning, but it was just a feint, the real passing came Friday morning. By then I was being processed for discharge, and not a moment to soon since I was in Richmond and needed to get to Stafford (90 minutes away) before our 20" of snow really hit! Anyways, I just wanted to let you know I'm doing well and I appreciate all the kind thoughts, words and advice. I'll have my catheter out on the 12th and believe my first post op PSA is 6-8 weeks later.

Glad it went well! I don't think I passed gas prior to leaving... just said I did so I could get the "toot" outta there.

Welcome to the other side. I'm glad to read that you're doing well and that you made it home before you got snowed in. It's a little tough to push a car in your condition  . Now just take it easy for a few week, but do try and walk as much as feels comfortable.

A little more than 2 months post-op and I had the opportunity to shovel after 13" of snow here in central Ohio.

Kind of wish my surgery had been last week, instead.

Seriously, it was good to be able to do the work after a long time of recovery being limited with respect to hard work. And it was hard work.

By the way, defender, glad to hear you're doing pretty well. ("Pretty well" is about all we hope for around this town, PCatown, unfortunately.)
