I am awaiting surgery. I have had this idea that orgasms now could shake cancer cells loose in my prostate....I don't want to do ANYTHING that might make this worse...am I worried too much?

Your question reminds me of knocking the lose marbles inside my head when I fall...

 

It took you 55 years to get where you are at this moment...Not much you can do to make it worse between now and surgery time. Good luck to you.

EDIT: Forgot to mention - knowing what I know now - I would "get it" while you still can..Doing so is good for the head.

craig, your theory of shaking cells loose isn't likely and probably the odds are in the multi-million to one. .... yes, you're worried too much. smilewinkgrin Not gonna happen---instead, you should be taking every opportunity to have sex, even trying the big 3 ED pills before you may need them, to get a baseline for how they may work afterwards. As I've seen it posted here, your prostate gland needs draining, repeatedly before approaching surgery (a joke, of course) but don't let opportunities pass you by. It may be months, years, or the next day before you can easily just roll over and have sex, so enjoy it now. I hope you are one of the guys who bounce right back as soon as the catheter is removed, though..

Could in theory, but then again so could a car accident, ski fall, or getting hit in the testicles with a ball while playing catch.

My Dr told me that leading up to surgery to have sex as often as possible, this ensures that the muscles are working as best as they can. Muscles have memory and they will need that memory to recover faster

One way to surely keep the cells from breaking loose is to worry about them. I know I couldn't have gottien it up if I had that image in my head.

You worry too much, I think. Have as much sex as you can now - so that you can remember, later, what it was like "in the 'old' days."

Absolutely, no way that could happen. Do it all you can while you still can, and while it will still be the way you will look back and remember

I heard you could go deaf or blind by doing such (LOL-LOL), so get me a leader dog (LOL).So who is the donor for the sex therapies? Joke: I married for better or for worse: I married the better and she says its the worst!!! Back to the donor theories: Is it Mr. Right(hand) or rapture-Rita or Senorita or other categories, that make these therapeutic remedies-events happen...I have not heard that one 'I need to strenghten muscles'...hey if it works? Women beware of a new catch phrase here(LOL)....men will supply plenty of aspirin so no headaches are possible.  Craig we have not heard that PCa can escape somehow by such, we cannot prove it either way at this time, so go for it.

Craig; I am 55 years old, 2 weeks post robotic surgery and very potent with no incontinence issues. My view about sex prior to surgery was that I wanted to enjoy sex as much as possible because I was unsure about what my potency would be after surgery. Obviously your clinical picture may be very different but I would say, GO for it unless your surgeon says differently.
Good luck and I am sending you positive energy for a smooth surgery, speedy recovery; FULL potency and NO incontinence. All of those things are not only possible but many of us are testament to them happeningyeah In my case I had an erection while my catheter was still in (not a good idea however)nono
