P.S.A. rising

 My latest psa drawn yesterday was 0.29. Two months ago it was 0.17. Three months prior it was o.o5 and three months prior to that it was less than 0.05. Yes it is rising and darn it really sucks but I still have a prostate and I have been off of casodex now for over a year. I am hoping to be off lupron for a while too but I wonder what the doc is going to say tomorrow. When you look at my overall stats and the initial 3200+ psa level 0.29 is a drop in the bucket but I just really dont want to have P.C. anymore. I stand on psalms 103 no matter what. Todd

Todd, my heart goes out to you, I know its not good to have numbers, however slight, moving stedialy in the wrong direction. Will be interesting to see what your doctor says next. My best to you, brother. May the Lord be with you.

Todd, I think it clear your PCa responds well to what you call a smacking. You may have to give it another one or two. In the meantime the roar you hear coming from up north isn't us Canadians excited about beating the Russians in hockey this evening --- it's me cheering you on!

Todd. i know this whole PC thing is terrible when psa rises it just makesyou want to scream!!!!! Ouestion did the casdex help to clear some of the nodes in the lungs and pelvic up are did you do any other treaments. my psa came back 6mths after surgery and steadly climbed.they recommended SR 9mths after surgery but i refused scared todo it but finally had to 36 mts later. MY HOPES AND PRAYERS ARE WITH AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!!! Deerhunter

I saw my Doc yesterday. She said that although my psa is nudging up that, as I have stated,  do have a prostate and the zero club is a temperary membership for me no matter what. She feels that there is no reason to change anything at this point. She ordered a CAT scan and said if the scan results were consistant with the last one a year ago, we would proceed with the lupron vacation. Good news unless I have a huge tumor somewhere.Todd

One look at your sig would say that your statement about cancer is a gross understatement.  It certainly does suck,and a whole lot more verbs and adverbs can be added to it.

I think the most imortant thing for all of us is that we don't suck too.  Somehow, we've got to face this like men, and maintain our outlook on life.  As I've said before, your story inspires me.

Keep that chin up and chest out.  If at all possible, try to leave the CAT results in the background.  Find some other challenge to distract you.  Keep talking to the source of your strength.

Maybe you ought to consider writing a book.  I want to hear the bear story as well.

Hey Jeff and good life and all my other brothers. I spend a good amount of time at work and when not at work I love working around the house building fence etc. I am a pipefitter by trade and have 38 more days until I make journeyman. This has been going on as long as I have been fighting p.c. Work keeps me sane. I was asked why I dont retire but I figure if I dont quit movin then I wont quit movin lol. I love crawfish. Ours aint as big as ya'lls but they still mighty tasty with a big glass of cold beer. I also enjoy oysters in the half shell and razor clams which I just got two limits on saturday last. Scan tomorrow. Fingers are crossed.
