Today I completed IMRT treatment #32/32, 6-1/2 weeks of 11:00 visits. The entire course of treatment was absolutely normal, each visit lasting less than ½ hour. The only side effect I have felt is a little fatigue towards the end. But, I joined a gym coinciding with the IMRT onset, and the exercise has helped counter the fatigue. The therapists at Wake Radiology/Oncology were totally professional, compassionate, and kind, and I can not find enough good things to say about them. Next step with the Rad Onco is a follow-up CT Scan, X-Rays and MRI a couple of months down the road to verify the effectiveness of the RT.
On Monday 3/1 I visit the Uro’s office for another Lupron injection, 30 mg, good for another 4 months of HT. There’s no reason not to expect the psa’s to be undetectable through next July, after which time we will sit back and wait and watch the psa #s. Until then, my fingers are crossed.
All the best.
