I have a hernia (read: huge belly button) right below the main scar from my Da Vinci prostatectomy 4 years ago. It's kind of been there, gradually getting bigger, for years. My primary care doc (after poking at it a few times!) gave me a referral to a general surgeon so I can have it fixed.
Anybody else had this? What's the surgery like?

I`m with ya brother! I`m 8 weeks out and have one in my groin that the doc said was caused by airing me up and the muscle not giving enough. I just got scheduled to have it fixed this Friday. Would also be interested to her from guys who have had this. Tim

My uro said a ct scan taken for another issue, lymphceles, indicated one, He felt nothing, I feel fine. Unfortunately, I,ve seen many posts, even here, compare recovery as more problematic, than
open rrp, but we are all different, and the men may have been considerably older.

Saw a surgeon today for my hernia. He says it's an "incisional" hernia rather than a true umbilical hernia. Waiting for a call from the outpatient surgical center now to get scheduled, probably in about
3 weeks.
He assures me my giant "outie" can go back to being an "innie" when he's done. Nice guy, went over the risks and alternatives. He does a ton of hernia repairs.
I'm looking forward to getting it fixed. It's not painful, but I don't like the look of it.

Just in time for swim suit weather and your speedo.
I had one repaired sveral years ago, but the DaVinci let some of it start to return. Not bad yet, but I will probably have to have it fixed. The original fix was done during gall bladder surgery, and I worked on my pole barn roof next day, so it wasn't bad at all.
Good luck.

I had a bulge about
half the size of a golfball above my belly button. Had it fixed a year before PCa surgery.
The first few days after surgery suck. But it'll get better. Just try not to cough
