Well people, all 8 cores negative!!! Thank you God. I do realize that I may have dodged a bullet and there still could be a sniper in there but for now a negative is a negative! I have a follow up PSA in 4 months and another appointment with the uro. I will not faint if he says he wants another biopsy. He did say that the sampling was sufficient as my prostate is very small and that some prostates just produce more psa. The doctor who did the biopsy was pretty confident that I had a low chance of cancer so they must know something I don't know. I will still be dropping in from time to time and will keep my PSA results posted as I get future tests. As for now I am taking my uro's advice to have some celebatory drinks with my wife. For the first time in 4 months I am not going to wake up or go to sleep thinking I hace cancer. My prayers are with you all. Greg

By all means celebrate, but at the same time be prudent. Have your doctor send your slides to Epstien at Hopkins or Bostwich for a 2nd opinion. Your PSA is high but stable. Your free psa is worrisome and your doctor should be able to explain why you are getting such a low reading. Several of us have had multiple negative biopsies so keep watching it closely and consider getting a targeted Color Doppler Ultrasound Biopsy if your numbers increase.

Greg:

Congratulations and I'm happy about your results.  However as others have said...you need to keep an eye on this.  THe 4% is definitely worrisome and, frankly, an 8 core biopsy is not state of the art...too few samples.

I would recommend a PCA3 test along with your next PSA.  Depending on that result you may want to consider another (more inclusive) biopsy.
