under the knife tomorrow

Getting my belly-button hernia fixed tomorrow, a result of the main prostatectomy incision. Looking forward to getting rid of the bulge.

I'll give you all the details afterwards, I promise.
In my case, it's outpatient surgery. The surgeon recommends taking a week or two off work. I'm taking just over a week off, initially, and can take more time if needed. My job doesn't require any physical exertion, so I guess it's mainly a matter of where I am with pain and pain meds.

Had mine fixed a year before PCa surgery.

They tuck in your guts and sew a mesh over the area of the original weak spot.  Hope you don't smoke cause even the smallest little cough HURTS like heck after the surgery.

On the other hand - I bumped my buldge which motivated me to seek treatment... and that bump hurt worse

Had mine fixed a couple of months ago. 

Well worth the effort.
