Here's a variation of a power shake my wife and I have been drinking for breakfast. It's helped to keep away the mid-morning munchies. The amounts are approximate: blend together - 2/3 cup frozen blueberries, 2 scoops of soy protein, 2 tbsp ground flax, banana, 1oz of orange juice, 8 oz of pomegranate juice.
But what's really worked for me is having a small cup of walnuts (good omega 3 source), sometimes mixed with other nuts for variety (e.g., pistachios, macademias). Eat some between meals and it controls the hunger and helps level the metabolism and glucose throughout the day.
We've also started trying to go as organic as possible.
