Color Doppler question --- John T. others?

On April 24, 2010, (a doubly significant day, as it was also my 68th birthday) John T. posted in a thread: "After 3 negative biopseis I would get a color doppler biopsy from Dr Duke Bahn, Fred lee or Doug Chin."

I've a friend (63) who has just been DX'd as a six with three cores of 12 involved. I've advised him to get a second read of his slides.

Would a color doppler ultra sound at this point give him any more information to work with regarding a decision on active survellance or treatment, and if treatment, what treatment?

Also, where might doctors Bahn, Lee and/or Chin, be found.

Color doppler can give some very useful information: it can accurrately estimate the size of the tumor or tumors and give a pricise location. This is important in identifying if the tumor is close to the margin, seminal vesciles, nevers, ect. In some cases it can also identify agressiveness, as more agressive tumors have higher blood flows. If used in AS it is a baseline in which changes can be seen without futher biopsies.
Fred Lee is in Rochester MI, Duke Bahn in Ventura Ca and Doug Chin in Los Angeles. The Dattoli Cancer center in Sarasota Fla also does Color Doppler. Just Google any of the above for contact information.

Love your "JohnT" by the way. My grandfather's brother was JohnT --- which the family pronounced: Jaunty. Great guy. Obviously a JohnT trait.
