kicked out of the club

Well Just got the news from the Doctor's office and I am no longer a member of the 0 club.

My PSA came back at .1 at the 10 month mark following my Surgery. I have a follow up appointment with the Doctor on June 25th to discuss.

I knew this would be a possibility since I did have a positive margin on my Path report.

Had been informed in the past that if I hit .2 then would most likely need follow up so time will tell.

Sorry to hesr about your results.

Now you are in an even more exclusive club, and you have lots of company here on HW. For me, it certainly takes a lot of the fear out of the future by hearing the guys on here who have undergone, are undergoing, or will undergo further treatment.

As our mantra is, "It is what it is ". Good luck to you as you start a new journey.

Sorry for the rise, not good news, of course. We can pray a retest shows it back down, if you are considering one.

Sorry to hear about the PSA increase, but welcome to my club. Hope that it is a blip but if not maybe they can get the rest of the PCa out of there.

Larry, like everyone else, I too am sorry about the detectable PSA. Don't give up hope yet - even with a positive margin, there's still the possibility that your last PSA test was a blip.

I also agree with David ... and would not push the button for RT until you have 3 consecutive rises in PSA. However, this is a decision that only you and your doctor can make. Wishing you the best.

Sorry to hear that, Larry. As others have said, there's still a lot that can be done. With a positive margin, hopefully they can now zap what was left behind and be rid of it once and for all.

Saddened to hear the news of the apparent rise in your PSA. As others have suggested, I would definitely ask for the more sensitive test. 0.1 could be anywhere from 0.5 to 1.5.. The sensitive tests let you better monitor the progression if any. I have just finished SRT after a BCR and am now back in the "0" club. I did not experience any significant discomfort during the SRT treatments.

So, get the more sensitive test and discuss with your doctor about how best to monitor the situation. SRT is effective for a local reccurrence... And if indeed your psa continues to rise to a BCR, your numbers/patholgy tend to support a local reccurrence... indicated from a positive margin/pathology where postop your psa did drop to undetectable for awhile and then slowly rise... You can look at my numbers and progression and see where I was very glad I had the more highly sensitive tests.

Remember, no matter what your psa does next, you still have options to beat the PCa beast...
