Saw my urologist this morning and the GREAT NEWS IS I"M ACTUALLY STILL IN THE 0 CLUB!!!!!
WOO-HOO!!!! 

When I called in for my psa result the nurse stated .1 and I even asked her twice and she stated .1

When I talked to the Doc this morning in person I told him I was worried about my PSA and he said that the test result was recorded as < .1 which means 0 But the lady on the phone did not state less then!!!  

Doc  told me that is why he doesn't like his staff giving out the numbers over the phone.
I told him that next time I will wait to get the words from his mouth!!!

Thanks all for your thoughts, prayers, words of kindness.

My next check up will be the end of October which will be 15 months post surgery.

Larry, what can I say, that is such a relief for you. I had one recently and I made the receptionist/nurse mad be cause I made her give me the date of the test cause she has made mistakes before on other issues.

Great news. Seems to be a common problem. My primary care doc told me my PSA was .1 when it was <.1 also. Guess it is important to get the info from the urologist.

I think the Uroolgist should spend two minutes training his staff to read the report correctly.

That small "<" sign made a difference. It caused you worry for a few days and he got paid for another office visit

Call the person who gave you the number and in the sweetest voice you can muster tell them that there is a difference.
Think how many other poor guys per week are getting the same response from that office. (And how many extra office visits are taking place.)

Surely the Uro could educate his staff.

This exactly why I make my dr. Fax or mail me a copy of everthing. You would think that professionls who are dealing with cancer patients would be much more careful when reading test results to patients. What if you went off for radiation and didn't need it.

I have heard too many of these stories.

I have my doctor write me a script for the hospital lab.

I then go to the records office two days later and get a written copy, long before the doctor even sees it.

PSA day is stressful enough !
