Change in ejaculate consistency

Two years prior to my PCa diagnosis, I noticed a decrease in ejaculate output and the consistency of the ejaculate was more gel- like and less liquid.  The only thing I found online was a reference to "old age."  My prostate always felt normal to physicians when a DRE was performed.  Anybody else experience this?

I also wonder why Pop Up ads are now showing up in the area where you are supposed to type your message.  Somewhat hard to type when the ad prevents you from seeing what your're typing devil

This is embarassing to admit, but I guess I didn't look at my ejaculate. By the time I got out of bed, it wash already flushed.

The only time I was asked to look at it is after my biopsy. That was a little scary.

The last ejaculate I had looked like something from "Aliens". Yikes!
Now it is no muss no fuss. Kind of handy when you think about it.

Prior to my op I had noticed a change over a couple of years.The volume had definitely dropped off ( I would guess about 50%) and orgasm had definitely become less intense. I put it down to age and things wearing out yeah Post op pathology certainly gave a clue as to why ...... I had quite a lot of the gland involved with tumour, which on reflection, I guess had interfered with the proper functioning of the gland. Now however, a far more eye-popping orgasm than I can remember in many a year seems to be my compensation for the total loss of ejaculate ...... I can live with that smilewinkgrin

In as much as I ever remember looking at it to "study" it, I'd say my ejaculate had varied a great deal in consistency over the decades prior to PCa diagnosis.

As for eye-popping orgasms, I'd be happy to be able to have something that was even slightly reminiscent of an orgasm. As I told the surgeon last week: it's as if he crossed over two sets of nerves, the one that causes pain and the one that causes pleasure. His reply was: Yes well they are rather close together. So I guess something's shorting out inside me at the vital moment. Everything that's been building up just seems to disappear when I've about half as second to go till I think the fireworks are going to go off. The two seconds later it usually feels rather like I've been kicked in the untouchables, but a bit deeper inside me. (I reckon the prostate is like a third testicle on this basis)
However it can't be that off putting as we still seem to keep trying to make me have an old-fashioned orgasm.

Sorry this is almost too much for a Monday morning! I think I will go and shovel some sand to mend a fence. (No, that wasn't a euphemism; I really do have a real fence to mend)

Alf, your story reminded me of a former neighbor lady who,every time her female dog went into heat, would run outside with a broom and beat the male dog (the only one in the area for miles around, so he knew what to expect) while be was mating with her 'precious'. That old hound knew a beating was coming, but he just docked his head and kept at it, present pleasure overcoming knowledge of future pain each time... smilewinkgrin

Post surgery - dry orgasms of course, but they grew in length/intensity - way better than pre-surgery, even had the cowpens gland working, to where it almost simulated a "wet" one. really no complaint, since I didn't have any ED.

Post-salvage radiation - now an orgasm is still the same length, but probably 90% of the pleasurable feeling is gone, and the radiation seemed to kill off the cowpens and its contribution to the game. Still no ED, amazingly, but so much pain associated with having sex, that it is not worth the pain and effort to try most times.

Pre-radiation was very doable and pleasant, now, its just a painful chore without any real pleasure to it. Nice catch 22 there. The PC gods teasee a man, "I will give you all the wood you want, but you won't want to use it". Great deal.
