 Hi    Here is something to think about. The end of Aug When in for monthly checkup psa went up .016 in one month, doc added predozone to see if it would help slow it down. Went back in 30 days check psa ,jump 2 points . Doc had me come in for scans in one week, talk to doc about taking me off predezone the only thing we change. Well one week later check psa went down .05 doc took off predezone.  has anyone heard perdezone feeding the cancer , they think that was what was going on. food for thought.

Prednisone is steroid and used sometimes with Ketoconazole, especially HDK (high dose keto useage).

The Tak-700 is like Abiraterone and it is like 10 times more power than Keto, they say. So now I see the why it was used, like doing HDK-Keto. 

Since you went off of it the psa declined, how long does the Tak-700 stay in you, I assume is it capsule type useage?   I have seen casodex feed PCa in some scenarios on hrpca type patients. On this one who knows, maybe doc can answer that one. If you take a drug and psa rises and you stop the drug and psa declines, I think any onco-doc would say drop the drug to obtain psa results.

Hey did you have any weird side effects on using these two combined drugs?

  Zufus;  Hi I,m still on the tak 700 just went off prednisone, had no side effects when added the prednisone. The Prednisone only stays in your body for 12 hours. the tak 700 is a pill , I,m on 600mg a day - 300mg am-pm.

As of Oct of this year 2011 I went on TAK-700 with great results.

PSA at start was 17 and today it is 1.53

I understand as of April 2011 the test trial is closed to new men.

This was an older post I see, but updated. Good to see packard that you are getting decent results. Alf203 seems strange in your situation but PCa contains so many variables it is unreal, in PCa there are like 4-5 main pathways to effect SRC (sarcoma) and within those pathways some variables and then we could have PCa that can morph might create its own 'T' and feed itself at some juncture, and then also variants types that can be missed by many pathologists to begin with, then ploidity DNA structures with the PCa cells that can morph and other things. In comparison rocket science is simple (LOL).
This adds to why you see various results in various patients...no one size fits all or one treatment is necessarily the answer.
