I have often wondered, what would have the most impact on the chance of a recurrence;
GLEASON OR STAGE ? I know they are both very important, but if you had to choose !

G'day Kev.
Which is more important to assess the handling aspects of your car - tyre pressure or state of the shock absorbers? Both is the answer, I'd say.
I noted that you mention two staging results T1c on diagnosis and T2c after surgery. The first (T1c) is referred to as the clinical staging and is the result of the inital examination you had. The second is made after examination of your gland after surgery.
T1c is the most common diagnosis being
.....tumor present, but not detectable clinically or with imaging; tumor was found in a needle biopsy performed due to an elevated serum
After surgery, the minimum staging is T2 - which says basically that there
is
cancer in the gland and that there is no evidence that it is out of the gland i.e. good news. T2c is merely saying that the disease was found in both lobes of the gland.
Gleason Score in the case of a T2 diagnosis would be the best predictor of potential recurrence - the tyre pressure is OK, but the shocks may need attention.
Be aware, if you look up old studies on recurrence potential that Gleason Scores have 'migrated' over the past six or seven years and many current 3+4 Gleason Scores would likely have been 3+3 or even lower back then.
Hope this helps

Hi Kev,
Hope you are well in the Gold Coast sunshine. I don't have an answer to your question, but always tune in to your posts (and read answers) as hubby (CJ) had the same surgeon as you, and now you both have the same undetectable readings! You may be interested to know that Terry was the first person I contacted 4 years or so ago for information as he had been close to my husband's age at initial diagnosis, and after reading his story on the internet, and an email or 2 to him, stumbled across here for information where I have stayed ever since. I just wanted to let you know that. He is a wise person for sure.
Hello again Terry. Good to read more of your feely shared knowledge recently here. cheers and all the best to you.
Enjoy the sea and sun Kev, with your lovely wife. Keep smiling!

Not so much sun as floods up Queensland way, so I read - and a bit of rain in NSW with Wagga Wagga declared a disaster zone! But at least there's no snow up your end as there is down here in Victoria - a chilly start to summer

Absolutely Terry! You know I have been down south and away from the news for a week. I just realised the sun is not really shining up north! I hope Kev you are not flooded in!

Hi Lana,
Yes it's a small world, but I would hate to paint it ! How lucky are we to be able to share this burden and to be encouraged by such people as Terry. Put it this way, I'm glad he's on our side !
Yes and hello to CJ, I also read all of your posts and Billymac's, love to hear from the Aussies on here, mind you don't think there are too many. I was very happy and pleased with the results from our shared surgeon, I think he is one of the best in Oz. Beautiful day today in Qld, the only problem I have is keeping the sand from sticking to the suntan lotion, whilst lying on the beach, dam someone's got to do it.
..............Cheers Kev

Kev,
Now you're really starting to bother me. Sand? Beach? Sun?
It's 8C here on the way down to 4C. I spent a good part of the day bringing wood into the house for heat. (And not the fun kind of wood or heat.)
Try not to get a sunburn.

Hey Jeff,
Hence my forum name, there's plenty of sun here, but certainly no WOOD, in actual fact the only WOOD around here is sourced from the drooping willow tree. lol
ps. you can keep your cold weather mate, we complain here when it gets down to 15c overnight.
