Well, I get to enjoy my spring plans

Just got back from my Uro's office, almost 11 months out and <0.04

My main fun in life is loading up the camper, hooking up a trailer with my well built Wrangler on it and heading out to Moab or one of the Colorado/New Mexico wheeling spots for some hard core trail fun. I'm scheduled to help the Red Rock 4 wheelers out with this years Jeep Safari (Apr 16-24) and my worst fear was that my PSA would bump up for this test and scuttle my plans. Looks like I'm good to go, one more 0.0 under my belt and my next test is the end of April with an appt May-3. Funny what we can worry about.

Last year sucked as I was expecting a recurrence so I didn't make any plans other than the already paid for Safari 4 weeks after my surgery. This year I am going to just make plans and let the chips fall where they may.

My Dr is keeping me on 3 months tests for another year or two, then will drop down to 6 months if all continues good. We're going to schedule the tests so I will be having a result appt on my 2 year anniversary of my surgery. My OCD or something is really kicking in on the odd months tests (11 months?!!!)

As for my PCP dropping the ball on informing me about my 01-08 PSA test, I've gotten to the point of trying to keep my thinking along the "no harm no foul" lines and have tried my hardest to let it go. I also let the PCP go and have a new one.

Drinks of choice are on me today, I'll have a double Fresca on the rocks!!

07-06 PSA 2.5
01-08 PSA 5.5 (PCP did not tell me of increase or schedule follow-up!!!!)
09-09 PSA 6.5 Sent for consult with Urologist
11-09 Consult, scheduled for biopsy, found out about PSA from '08 (yes I was pissed)
12-09 Biopsy, initial Gleason 9 (4+5) later reduced to 8 with tertiary 5, ain't much but I'll take it.
01-10 Bone Scan, "appears negative"
03-01-10 RRP in Durango CO by Dr Sejal Quale and Dr Shandra Wilson, no naked eye evidence of spread, Vesicles and lymph nodes taken for microscopic exam.

03-16-10 Removal of cath' and pathology results of samples.
Multifocal carcinoma with areas of Gleason pattern 3, 4 and 5, Overall Gleason grade 4+4 with tertiary 5, Bilateral involving 21% of

left lobe, 3% of right lobe, Invasion of left Seminal vesicle, Tumor focally present at left resection margin, 9 lymph nodes removed all negative, Tumor staging pT3b NO MX

04-23-10 PSA <0.04....... 06-07-10 PSA <0.04..... 08-03-10 <0.04...... 10-26-10 <0.04...... 1-25-11 <0.04
05-03-10 1 week without pads
06-28-10 Success!!

Keep the dirty side down OK, and keep up the zeros! Have fun on this and many more trips. I'm just now getting back to where I can load up my Rhino and get up to the snow. I live an hour from the Rubicon Trail.
