Yesterday, the hernia repair hurt like hell. I made it to 6pm before taking pain meds then threw in the towel. The only prostate related annoyance remains the painful catheter.
Today, the skin on my abdomen, and my upper chest (just below the neck) is red and blotchy. No itching. As well, I feel weak and tired. No fever, just drained.
This sound familiar to anybody else?

The blotchy skin up by the neck could be a reaction from the position that RRP is done in. ie, standing on your head almost. However, that is nothing that i had or know about
. If someone else doesn't give you answer that satisfies you, then email, text or call your doc. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling so good.

Hey GTO,
I developed what looked like a rash thing with a bunch of little puss bumpy things. Never got worse, and it is slowly clearing up. They didn't really itch, but did look scary.
The only itchiness was around my five incisions, and finally after about
a month, the last of the strips loosened enough so I am now bandage free, although the glue stuff still remains.
I thought maybe this could be due to a change in the soap I'm using (dove unscented) but that should be OK.

Sounds annoying and painful, but mostly normal. Not a lot of fun at this stage in a recovery. I used Ivory bar soap during my surgical recoveries.

A few days after my da Vinci RP, my sholders and upper chest had these strange painful surges. The pain came at different times at different areas. I read somewhere that some patients have strange after effects from the CO2 gas that the surgeon pumps into you during the procedure. I read that the CO2 gas slowly travels up to your sholders.
I don't know what if this is what is happening to you but it me a little while to figure out what was happening to me with the CO2 thing.
Also after my procedure, my right ankle hurt bad. It had pretty good pain for several days. It was almost like a sprain. Then I realized that they hung me upside down by my ankles. A friend of mine joked by saying they hang you like a slab of meat.

Have you considered it could be a reaction to a new med? After a surgery of mine, they prescribed an oral antibiotic and the
location and rash that developed sounds like yours. Maybe to your pain med? Just a thought...
