8 Days Post-Op (DaVinci)

First of all, I want to thank all of you who sent supportive messages my way before my surgery. I was pretty terrified, and it helped a lot.

I am amazed at my rate of recovery after the DaVinci surgery. Every day just keeps getting better and better; the progression has been substantive and dramatic.

So here's the good news: I saw the surgeon this morning, who removed my catheter (YAY!). Then, we discussed the pathology report: Stage I (T2a Nx Mx); Gleason 6 (3+3); tumor in right lobe only, with greatest dimension of 1 cm; all negative margins, organ confined; negative right and left seminal vesicles; everything else clear. I didn't realize how stressed I was about this morning's meeting until afterwards. I just feel like celebrating.

On top of that, I am experiencing minimal leakage so far, but wearing Depends to be safe for a while . . . The doctor also prescribed Cialis 5mg per day until my 3-month followup. We'll see about the ED. He indicated that I may need to take Cialis or something similar for the rest of my life; not happy about that, but I can deal.

I bought a sandwich, took it to the beach, and then walked three miles around the peninsula. I'm not even tired.

what a great and encouraging recovery story so far. you are doing great, real happy for you. good luck on the future ED front as well. that was an excellent pathology report.

Great numbers Konrad, sounds like a good recovery but don't over do it early on, still lots of cutting and dicing went on down there give it a chance to mend. congrats

Congratulations on your recovery and Path report. I am 14 days out of my surgery and I am also recovering well, other than some pain around my right groin/testicle/pubic bone area.

Great Path report. I know how you must be feeling. I was over the moon when I was given mine.
