18 days post op - bleeding ?

Da Vinci Prost.  18 days ago.  Of course i expected to see varying degrees of blood in my urine post op.  I had very little or none while the catheter was in place and also afterward.  Lately i have been noticing pieces of blood clots when i urinate.  Just the past few days i am noticing some traces of real blood in my urine. Urine is usually and normally clear, but now occaisionally i spot blood. My question is :  why now....  why after 15-18 days of seeing no blood whatsoever, i am i now seeing occaisional pink urine ?

your help would be appreciated.

As the scar tissue peels off the inside of the urethra reconnection, it exposes tender spots, and some light bleeding happens. Think of a scab on your hand. The problem is that a single small drop of blood in the pot looks like the end of the world (experience speaking here).

I had debris and the random blood spot for at least two months.

But, as always, my main advice is to call your uro/surgeon with any question.

If you're taking any ibuprofen you may want to stop. It can cause bleeding. Check w/ your doc.

When I was in my third week I also had some burning in my penis that I thought was a bladder infection, my URO said it was from the urethra sutures dissolving and part of the healing process. He also said I might see some blood in the urine from the dissolving sutures but I didn't.

Its all normal. Part of the healing process. You will be fine.

I had a bit of a bleed about 15 days post op, I was feeling pretty good and did too much that day. Had slight bleeding for 2 days, couple of clots as well, but all was ok, if you are still able to pee, see how it goes. Just remember it is major surgery and will take time to heal. Good luck to you.
