We have added another forum moderator today in 142. 142 has been a great contributing member here and sure is nice to have the helping hand. Please welcome 142 as a moderator.

If you haven't noticed I have been more of a part timer lately. My cancer is currently in check, I am very busy in the advocacy and support group work, regular work is busy, and I am also busy with the ministry work at church. LOL, not much play time. Adding new moderators is necessary. We are never perfect in our work but we do care about this forum on all of the members that come here. When James C stepped down (you rascal) Steve and I immediately went into search mode to find more help. I believe that one more is a good idea so that this stuff does not burn anybody out. I don't really feel any burnout but after more than three years at this it is nice to take time away.

Just wondering... Now that you have been promoted, should we call you by your first name "One" or your last name "Two"? Or would you prefer the more formal "Mr. Two." You're the boss.

142, thanks for taking the position (although I venture to say at some point it won't be a comfortable one) as moderator.

So we will be blessed with the presence of a mod at another GFMPH, nice going and good timing.

142,, do we need to bring some vino to toast to you at the GFMPH.. My gess is there will be a few bottles around if I remember correctly. :)

Here goes the first post with the new hat -

Thanks for all the welcomes and warnings. I did consider that when I land in the middle of something now, it may have to be a different middle. I'm sure you guys and gals will keep me in line, or at least remind me to say whether the hat is on or off. 

I'm sure I'll get the the point of having had enough, and change my mind, but having been here 20 months, I'm betting I've seen it all at least once.

When I discussed this with a few folks, they questioned my sanity, but then they would do that anyway just for being out in the wild west of the internet.

I hope I'll be of some value in this role, and if anyone needs to give me a jab in the ribs, I've created an email on the HW mail site, and posted it in my profile.

Officially, 142 has not been promoted, he has been demoted from member to moderator.

142 - i just got back in town an read the news, you name would have been top on my list for the job if i had a vote, sure you will be good and fair at it, known you a good while now. congratulations. while there is no pay, the benefits package is outstanding, enjoy.

I'm a newbie here but understand what the mods do from other forums I frequent. The hours may be long, and it may be a thankless job sometimes, but I'm sure the pay is good... smilewinkgrin

Thanks for contributing your time - it's certainly a worthy cause.

So they found a sucker volunteer, eh? Congrats to the recruiting team.

Congrats to you too, 142. You'll be perfect for this gig. The mods all do great work for this forum, and it wouldn't be the pleasant, supportive and informative forum that it is without them. You guys are great.

I look forward to being reigned in by someone so eminently sensible and wise as 142. tongue

What are the odds that when I went to the GFMPH in Baton Rouge, that I would meet 2 future mods in person ? It's like incredible !

Let that be a BIG statement on the importance of GFMPH. There are some really big movers and shakers there.

Maybe the part time mod Tony might even come by sometime. Now that would really be something.

First, thank you TC Las Vegas for all your hard work and contributions. It is newbies like me (since February) when my world came crashing down and have found this to be such a valuable site, resource, support, a place to laugh and a place to cry when you read someone's unfortunate news.

142 welcome aboard and thanks for volunteering, all your future hours will make a bid difference in so many lives. I have already referred three people to this forum because i have found it to be so valuable.
