Hello everyone,
Haven't posted for a while but just wanted to update and ask for advice again. Had hospital appointment with dad again last week, PSA has come down to 326 and although still very high, for those of you that remember me it was a whopping 1100 at diagnosis!! it is slow in coming down and dad still on HT injections 4 weekly. Docs are considering giving him tablets to compliment this at his next app in Nov. I have to say we were very relieved to see PSA coming down as I think we had all prepared for it to be bad news. I have also joined a support group with my dad and went for the first time last month and going again to the next one in sept, they mentioned a new drug called Abiraterona (Zytiga) and wondered if anyone had any knowledge or info on it??
Dad is doing really well in himself and is staying positive, carrying on with his life as normal.
I have sent a letter of complaint to the GMC regarding his GP (who failed to read his notes properly when a letter was sent to him 10 months prior to dad's diagnosis telling him he had cancer with a PSA of 248) awaiting the final outcome!
Hope you are all well
