Caverject and possible side effect of sleep disorder ?

Hi everyone,

Well things are going well here and life is good again. I am settling on the Caverject for the ED despite the aches afterwards which i use Sudafed and Ibuprofen for, but i have found that even when the ache has gone that i have a bad nights sleep because i am restless and keep tossing and turning. I wondered if anyone else had this as well and what your thoughts are on it ?

I wonder if the Sudafed and Ibuprofen are responsible for the sleepless nights? A simple test would be to take your usual dose at the usual time but without the Caverject.

Have you considered Trimix or Bimix instead of Caverject? Bimix has no aches at all, and Trimix, depending on formula, should be considerably less. But of course a lot depends on what is available in your area.

I have had no aches with Trimix but since it can take up to 2 hours for the erection to totally go away, sleeping after injections can be uncomfortable for those 2 hours. Most pain killers like Ibuprofen have some caffeine in them which could cause your sleeplessness. Try One of the night time pain relievers (Tylenol PM)as they have no caffeine and a mild sleep aid.

I am one of those guys that have used Caverject and never had a problem sleeping. I also never had to take Sudafed and Ibuprofen after. I get no ache from it but Jr does stay puffy for a while.. :) I like that.

Guys that have had ache from Caverject have switched to either BiMix or TriMix. You should look into it. But you must admit it is nice to be back in the saddle.

The reason why he is using Caverject may have more to do with availability. I understand it that Bimix and Trimix isn't available in the UK or Australia, as well as some other countries. I may be wrong about AUS., but even there it is hard to find compounding pharmacies that can provide it. ........I think............. tongue

Sudafed has the base stock for Meth in it, Pseudoephedrine, that's why the fed's moved it behind the counter in the US. My hat's off to anyone who can sleep after taking a Sudafed.

My personal choice for an antihistamine to be taken before sleep (and what the hospital gave me for sleep after surgery) is Benedryl which has Diphenhydramine in it. I don't know if it has the same effect in reducing the effect of trimix however.

I was using Caverject for a few years before my surgery and the ache was minmal then and easy to cope with but somehow that changed after surgery to remove the offending prostate. As to Trimix or Bimix, i enquired with a friend who is a pharmicist and he says that there are no compounding pharmicies in the UK and i do know from talking to our family doctor that they can only prescribe what is on a goverment approved list of meds so i cannot even get a prescription for either of them anyway :(
But i try to not to moan about it too much as we do have an active sex life and we were warned that there was a risk that i would not be able to function at all
