(No Subject)

So with my surgery coming quickly(sept.13),I've told my wife to let everyone except for my daughter not to come by while I'm wearing my cath. if they do they will be required to carry my bag..that should keep them away!

I had visitors at the hospital and at home while tethered to the snake ( as Cajun Jeff puts it) and no one was upset - they even shared stories about their own cath experiences ( male and female guests/friends) -
-it's all part of the healing and nothing to be ashamed of -
-I got very little sympathy when I broke my leg (4 places) and went around in crutches - no cast - a cast is a poor-baby magnet - internal rods get no attention....

- so, with a catheter and day bag - maybe if you could do a zoot suit routine with the bag and that would liven up your visitors....
-also , you could get into a good routine of daily walks with your bag in tow -

With only 1 night in the hospital and the first day I was so out of it from the surgery I wanted no visitors.  My poor wife spent 5 hours waiting through my surgery while I was "snoozing" and I could see she was exhausted so I told her to go home and not come back until I was released the next day. My son came the next morning and helped me get out of bed and walk around for the first time, so this visit was welcomed. I had no problems once home with visitors and the tethered snake never got in the way.  Good luck as your date with the bot approaches.

Good humor here!  Our experience was pretty much like Terry's other than I had to wait 8 hours!  At that point, all the good television shows had been seen.  Someone suggested I bring a book to read; however, I couldn't focus enough to get beyond page 2.  Cmentalman, please tell your wife to be prepared!

My husband decided to wear the night bag the enitre 13 days (as recommended by several here).  He wore those long basketball shorts, did not use any tape, and put the tethered snake in an oval bucket.  It worked great for daytime and night.  Plus, he could take a walk around our property three times a day.
