First of all, Happy Labor day to everyone here. Hope you're enjoying a much needed break and distraction from everything that is PCa.
So Friday I completed my 22 of 44 treatments of Proton Beam Therapy.
So far everything is going very well. Only 2 real noticeable changes:
1 - I've had a slight inflammation of my prostate which has caused some a bit weaker urinary stream. It wasn't extreme, or painful, but was def noticeable. Doc prescribed FloMax, which I've taken past 3 days and all is back to normal. Also taking some cranberry supplements to give me a little extra assistance.
2 - The only other thing I've noticed (make sure the kids aren't reading this :) ) is a reduction in the amount of fluid during ejaculation. about 1/2 what I normally would have. I knew this would happen, but didn't realize it would be so soon. Somehow I remember being told this would happen 1-2 years after treatment. I think I misunderstood that part. I'll check w/the doc tomorrow to see if this is normal timing. Anyone else have a similar outcome during radiation?
Good luck to everyone out there.
