Week#4 Proton Therapy Report from IU @ Bloomington:
Week #4 and 16 treatments now in the book. Procedure remains the same each day, but scheduling has become interesting due to several new brain and spinal tumor cases that have arrived at the Proton Therapy Center. My treatments are now taking place late at night (9-10pm) each evening. The radiation therapists are actually happy to see us, as we take only 20 minutes and are relatively easy to set up compared to the brain and spinal cases.
No significant side effects so far, but I am starting to see the initial twinges of increased urinary frequency and difficulty in starting a stream. Not a big deal yet, but it is something I have noticed. Dr. went ahead and prescribed flomax for me to starting using if and when I felt it necessary. Otherwise, no noticeable effects. No fatigue (I work out each day for an hour or more). No bowel problems. I drove home this morning and made only one restroom break in a 3 hour drive.
Kind of a boring report, but that is what I want, I guess!
