I just received the following email. I think I got on thier list when I signed the petition to Light the White House Blue.

BE THE ANSWER - Be part of our prostate cancer awareness photo shoot at the White House on Sunday, September 18 at 12:15PM.  Rain or Shine.

Meet in front of the White House along the fence on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.   Look for the banner, "Prostate Cancer Pony Express."  Be Part of the Blue Bulb Brigade! 

  • Show the World that you hate prostate cancer.  
  • Show America that we prostate cancer survivors, fighters, family, friends and doctors, are united and will not sit still until prostate cancer is beaten. 
  • Show the White House that Prostate Cancer Awareness Month means more than a simple proclaimation.....it's about our lives, fighting cancer, together.

Steve,

Sonny3 is in DC now doing some clinical scan testing and I think he will still be there on the 18th. He might be able to attend this and would be a great representative of our group.

Darryl's efforts for prostate cancer awareness are wonderful. Also I just met one of his partners at PCRI in Joel Nowak and his wife Wendy Lebowitz. Both terrific supporters of our cause.

I won't be able to attend this meeting on Sunday but the next day I arrive in DC. I have arranged a very special ride from Baltimore to DC from Mr. Sonny. I haven't confirmed yet whether VA_Fan ~ Cindy and Kent will join us for dinner. But I have received an invite also from Zero CEO Skip Lockwood to get some dinner that evening, too.

Anyone in the DC area that would like to get together, let me know. I have a limited schedule as I have meetings set up with congressional members. But I am looking forward to seeing a few eastern HW members.

Really hate to disappoint you guys but the is NO WAY I am going to be in front of the White House when they light it up. First my son in coming down from NYC to join me for a few days, and second (most importantly) I am not getting into the middle of the traffic to get there.

I have had a taste of Sunday traffic in DC and yesterday it took me just shy of 2 hours to go the 31 miles to Bethesda and the NCI for my clinical trial appointment.

Seems night or day, weekday or weekend, there is always traffic and delays on every road in and around DC.
