I was saddened this morning to read your post and your decision to not make GFMPH. I fully understand your situation but as you are one of the inspirational leaders to so many of us on this board, I was looking forward to meeting you in person. You will be with us all in spirit all weekend, however do you have the ability to Skype on your computer? If so I will bring my portable 720p HD web cam with me and you will be with us by teleconferencing. Joining us by Skype is the next best thing to being there. I can even connect my lap top to one of the large screen TVs there so we can see you in wide screen HD glory.

Terry, I was disapointed as well, but I am too chocked full of issues with what I am dealing with right now. I am hard enough to reach by phone, and even harder to reach in person, lol. It would have been fun for me, but I spend large portions of my days and evenings laid out to ease some of the pain. I only make short trips to stores or to eat out, and despite all these months of physical therapy, actually still going downhill on the physical side. Perhaps the next one will be much closer, and hopefully (one can only hope) I will be feeling bettter.

I have a very robust and advanced laptop, but have never used this skype thing, don't really understand it or how it works. If you could explain, perhaps we could do as you suggested.

Guys,
I just spoke with the manger of Holiday inn Express. They only do discounts for blocks of 10 rooms - and usually months in advance.
When you sign in tell them you get the Senior discount to get the rate of $102 per night. Mention you are from the Prostate Cancer group - GFMPH. That said, the place is spotless and does have free breakfast and wifi. He said next year we can set up something further ahead of time.
I think there is only one person staying as a single in the hotel and you are welcome to stay at my place. It will be fun. Honest. (Unless you are concerned about strangers wandering around at night looking for the bathrooms).

One couple is staying at the Friendly Motel in Spencerport, a small place that looks like it was built in the '50s. I think the price was $50 per night. We'll get a full report from them and if it is good people can switch if desired.

Oh well...
This should give you more incentive to stay at our place. :-)

David, sorry to hear that you can't make the trip. I was really thinking that the trip would be good for you, but I fully understand what you are going through and dealing with. We will miss you and raise a few glasses in your honor. Be well my brother and take care.

Sonny, it would have been good for me, perhaps even great, I have no social life, just endless days of pain and struggle to make it to the next day. If I could have been transported there instantly, i.e. Star Trek, I probably could have handled the rest of it.

Raise all the glasses you wish to me, since I don't drink, divie up my share and pass it around to the boys. I am just as much pro the brotherhood as always, just won't be there in the flesh.

I am so very sorry I have not made one of these events yet. But I promise to keep trying. You all have a great weekend. I still send my love and prayers for a very peaceful fun filled event.

I have our charity event next Saturday and I am the Emcee and the group leader. I have to be there.

There will be some backup PCa awareness (Canadian blue tie version) pins. We weren't sure they would get through customs in time, so I didn't mention it (the eternal pessimist in me).

Must be present to get one.

Good news, David (Purgatory) has now got Skype downloaded and set up on his computer and I will bring my 720p HD web cam  (its no good to me anymore for my online p***o site) and we can hook my laptop to one of the HDTVs and David will be with us for most of our GFMPH events. I know he was looking forward to the catheter bag explosion inflation test. Skype is a private and secure video conferencing tool so the secret identities of some of our HW agents will be protected. smilewinkgrin

2 days to GFMPH and all this anticipation is running down my leg again. nono
