i've done everything i can and now it's out of my hands.
You are being very
smart about
it. Doing the things within your control to
stack the odds in your favor. It's sad when we see guys who have diligently fought prostate cancer, but don't embrace the lifestyle tactics (diet & exercise) endorsed so strongly by the PC medical experts who say (paraphrasing), 'why fight PC if you're going to eat crap and not exercise?'
Exercise slows PC progression, lowers risk of death by PC, and reduces fatigue that cancer patients may feel. It's really that simple...but some people have too much "momentum" in their current lifestyle to embrace a willingness to change. Change is difficult...but you are stronger than that, and you have overcome the "momentum" to keep going. Very smart!
I'm trying to follow your footsteps. I haven't joined Weight Watchers, but continue to step up my exercise, and improve my diet...for example, I have almost eliminated red meats (loaded with bad fats). On January 1st of this year, I weighed 235 lbs. This morning, after a 13 mile bike ride before work, I weighed 215.5. My goal from the beginning of the year was to be in the BMI normal range by my next physical exam (in December)...I have just a couple pounds more to go on my 6'5" frame.
Your efforts, and those of others, are motivating me and others here. Keep it up!
