when they removed my cath the first time, they did not pump in fluid and do a test, they just yanked it out and believe it or not the nurse said to me and my wife
you can go home and have sex now, i didn't worry to much about it, i went home and peed ok one time, then, look out the next time i went to pee
i felt a level of pain inside that i never knew existed something from the seventh circle of hell.

Sounds like the nurse is not doing what she is supposed to. You can't have sex, the urethra has to heal. That's assuming you can even get an erection that close out of surgery both physically and that you even desire getting one at that point so soon after the mental trauma.
Your story reflects what my worst nightmare was upon removing my catheter. The idea of not being able to pee was very scary.
They definitely pumped out the liquid that was in the balloon prior to removing it from me.
hope everything turns out ok. You definitely didn't need that setback.
