"Gross Hematuria" update

Some may remember that nearly 3 weeks ago I passed a lot of bloody urine....bright red bloody urine.

I saw my uro the next day and he ordered an ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder, which I had done a week ago, and today he checked out the inside of my bladder by doing a cystoscopy.

The result:  no problems found.  Everything looks good.  Whew!

We may never know what caused the bleeding, but it sure was unnerving when it happened.  It hasn't happened since.

Thanks to all who've offered good wishes, and may all your tests come out negative, as these did.

so glad nothing was found, but don't you just love a great mystery like that, with no medical explanation? perhaps it was just a one time event

142, Mal, and David:  Thanks, guys.  Maybe I passed a small kidney stone?  The uro gave me a script for some Cipro in case there's a bit of infection somewhere, but other than that it's a mystery.  For now, I guess I can relax and hope it doesn't happen again.

Hi bill,

I can only imagine how frightening that must have ben for you. Sure glad that you had it checked out quickly and that no problem has ben discovered. Hopefully all your future tests will turn out to be this uneventful.
