I have been trying various methods of explaining to my wife those things that are GFMPH.

I keep getting the same response. " You don't have a prostate."

How do I respond?

If Steve's sound advice doesn't work for you, I would say, Yes Dear, but it may grow back and see if that will work?

I'm sure you will get many more one liners from the brethern.

prostate health also includes post-op / post- treatment solutions to help keep those pesky PSA numbers low

for example,

"Honey, taking a trip to Bancroft for the weekend would be GFMPH."
"But you don't have a prostate."
"Yes, but taking a trip to Bancroft for the weekend would keep my stress levels down and help get me some exercise and we could buy some Pomegranate Juice Wine there."
"But I don't drink wine."
"And I don't have a prostate. And I have two Cialis pills left. There's that little B& B you keep telling my about. Let's go."
"Whatever you say. I'll pack a lunch full of non-dairy and non-red meat products. My sister-in-law says that is GFMPH."
"Now you're in the swing of things. I may buy a case of that wine."
(theme music for "Father Knows Best" plays in the background)

- going off on a tangent is GFMPH

In those rare instances when a spouse or loved one fails to respond to GFMPH requests, it is usually with the retort "But you don't have a Prostate".

In those extreme environments and situations, it is best if the definition of GFMPH is changed to stand for GOOD FOR MENS/MY PROSTATE-LESS HEALTH.

That is one that certainly cannot be argued with. It brings into play the entire gamut of side effects and emotional well being of those that have lost the functions of having a Prostate.

Well!!!! At least it works for me from time to time.

Geez! Here are some helpful pointers for you.

Does your wife insist you suffer the shame and humiliation of regular exams from your Uro? Where exactly is said Uro inserting his digits and what unspeakable acts is he performing?
Furthermore, are you or, are you not, burdened with the morale crushing anxiety of regular PSA testing? Pray tell, what does that first P stand for?
Finally, is not recovery as, if not more, important that the actual one day procedure? We do not judge a marriage based solely upon the performance of the wedding DJ. Recovery is a lifelong process not unlike any healthy, happy, long lasting marriage. It involves mental as well as physical effort and well being.

Say that with a slight quaver in your voice, a tear in your eye and throw in a sniffle or two. You might also try exhorting an idiopathic "ouch" every now and then.

That's how I got my Leupold VX-II 3-9x, gas filed rifle scope. GFMPH!

GFMPH also works when you want to get out of something around the house.

Like this scenario:

Wife says "Honey the grass is getting 2 feet deep in the yard can you mow today" You say while clutching your stomach where the robot entered its tentacles : "Oh honey (a grimace or 2 works here) I would but I do not think it is GFMPH" The wife retorts " You are so right so lets hire a lawn service this year so you can rest on the couch watching your football team"

Guess who is no longer mowing our lawn?
