Probably worth mentioning that this isn't about a comparison to surgery, etc., it is specifically dealing with advanced disease, and comparing the two treatments (rad and hormone) vs just hormone.
Title of the thread is a bit misleading at first...

The poster for this study was released in June of 2010. My radiation oncologist gave me a copy at my initial meeting in September, 2010, with the recommendation to do ART. It's nice to see that the full study is now published. The study involved life-long hormone therapy, so the question of shorter term HT was not directly addressed. Dr. Scholz thinks 9-12 months is sufficient; my radiation oncologist thought six months would be enough.

Interesting how OCO's play with the  length of term for HT and I know it depends on the level of PC and where it is, but for patients like me who had a URO recommend 2-3 years and one OCO agreed to stop after my first month. Luckily, I took the advise of my OCO, who did my BRACHY , who insisted that I stay on my HT for at least 9-12 months for a better chance of a cure.

There have been a number of studies showing the greater treatment effectiveness of adjuvantive treatments as opposed to sequential treatments. My uro, med-onc, and rad-onc all independent of one another said the adjuvant method is better than the sequential method. Thus, it was the protocal I followed.

I'm sure he meant it in relative terms as in not to just to suspend the PC but to eradicate it as well......and I don't mind the word "cure" no more then I mind the word "cancer"......

I assuming that adjuvantive treatments, as in IRT + HT + Brachy overlapping treatments. And how are you doing with your SEs?

Sorry Glen.
I published 3 paper at a International Geophysics Conference and I wrote them so no one would have to explain what I meant by this or that. There was no question as to my purpose or findings.
Now after the papers were excepted and during my TV interview I deviated from the terminology that I used in my papers but never did I stray from my original quest and purpose of my research.
I have not read his papers just what was posted. So his purpose may have been to determine if a cure could be accomplished from this study who knows.
