Hi Everyone,
I would like to thank everyone on the board for the wonderful advice, information and support provided. I have not been very active on the board but do follow the posts regularly. Just wanted to report out the results from my da vinci surgery on Oct 17, 2011. I was very nervous going into the surgery & was worried more about the incontinence and ED issues than the surgery itself. My family, especially my wife & this board helped tremendously in keeping my spirits up. The surgery went well & I woke up with the catheter in place. I must admit that the catheter was as big pain in the rear (figuratively !) & was glad to be rid of it in a week's time. My lower back hurt quite a bit after the surgery (- the doctor thought it must have been the hosital bed). Experienced bad nausea from the anesthesia & couldn't keep anything down for the first 2 days. I had expected my shoulders to hurt from CO2 but the back pain trumped it.
Incontinence wasn't a big issue - I had a pad in place for the first 2 days after catheter removal & didn't need to use it after that. (Would attribute that to Kegels). I do have occasional leaks but hope that it will get better. Currently experiencing ED - keeping my fingers crossed that it will improve over the next couple of weeks/months(?) I do take levitra 10mg every other day but it doesn't seem to have made a difference so far .
Thanks!
