Prostate Cancer spread to the bones

Hello,

I'm hoping I can get some information. My father is waiting for results to see if his prostate cancer has spread to the bones. He has prostate cancer and now they are just waiting to see if it has spread. For those of you who have prostate cancer and it has spread to the bones, what are your symptoms? Are they constant? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and my prayers are with all who suffer from this disease.

Hi,

So sorry to hear about your dad. Praying for you both that it hasn't spread.

My hubby has bone mets. Spine, multiple ribs, sternum, pelvis-both sides and his right tibia which is pretty bad at the moment. He has terrible pain and has trouble walking on it sometimes. He will be having radiation to that area in a week. The pain usually subsides in a few days. He has had radiation for pain to the sternum, back and pelvis also. All has worked pretty well on the pain. So other than pain no other symptoms really.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. My PCa spread to the bones, I have no pain at all. Even if your Dad's PCa has spread to the bones do not get too worried. PCa in the bone is like termites, it can eat away the bone. But it is also very possible the 'termites' have yet to do damage to the bones. He will need X-Rays to determine that.

I reread it all and in light of my current status, I found it very interesting.

As you know, I am getting ever closer to HT time!

It looks like I will be doing the triple blockade.

I'm not totally commited yet.

Dear mydadhaspc,

I just wanted to send you good and positive wishes. I am on here too because of my dad. And I know the feeling of wanting to protect the man that has always protected you. The bone scans will be the best answer and I know the wait is hard. I am really not one to give advice but just wanted to reach out. take care of yourself.

I second what bestdadever said -- positive wishes your way. My dad also has prostate cancer, just found out a couple weeks ago it is now "confirmed" in the bones. We have an appointment tomorrow.
