4 month post op PSA Test

Had my second PSA draw today, now have to wait until tomorrow for results, just wondering if the anxiey with this darn disease ever ever diminishes..also

does depression just naturally come along with this disease. My wife feels like I should be jumping for joy due to the fact that the cancer was removed, she has a hard time understanding why I am so concerned with the cells popping their ugly heads somewhere else. I have tried to explain that with my gleason score and the fact that it had spread to my seminal vessels I have reason for concern, any way just venting, thank gosh for this forum. I will post my results tomorrow, naturally still hope to be a member in good standing in the 0 club.

I hear you, and good luck with your results. I am early on in the post operative phase of this disease with a pretty decent pathology report, but I still worry each time I have a PSA test (3 so far, because the first was still over .1 after 4 weeks). At week five, I scored less than .1, and again at 3 months. For some reason, I don't trust this disease. so, there is a degree of anxiety associated with the whole post operative process, and I doubt it will subside any time soon. You just have to hope that they got it all. Best of luck.

From experience - if it happens, you get to leave the zero club quietly. Nobody comes to your house to take back the certificate cry . At least they could have stopped by for a beer -

I won't say depression is automatic, but because it is such a twilight zone, you can always be sure that there is something you don't know, and whatever it is, it might hurt you, or might not. Anxiety is a better word. Two years out, and there is nothing certain about my PSA test other that the fact that I get a needle stuck in me in the process. I don't like needles.

I just got my 3½ year results yesterday.. The reality of it didn't really hit me till I was in the exam room waiting for the doc to come in. Even then the anxiety was pretty mild... I've always been a "It is what it is" kind of guy.
