I have had no problem talking to others about
my PC journey since I was first diagnosed last April. I do a lot of networking for my business and use some of my speaking time to promote PC awareness. It always amazes me how much more women I speak to are more worried about
the males in their lives than the men I talk to. One guy I know told me that after I spoke to his wife she forced him to get screened and take a PSA test but it was negative and now he feels better. One of my customers who is 55 had never heard of a PSA test or PC screening and hadn't been to a doctor in over 10 years. He is the type who only goes to a doctor when he is terribly sick. I convinced him to see my GP and his PSA was over 5 and he was referred to a URO who found cancer with a biopsy. He has since done seeds and has an excellent prognosis. This customer thanked me several times as he believes I saved his life.
I have not had one lost customer or any business problems because of being open about my PC and how it affects my life. However I am not quit as open about the ED issues as I feel that is more personal.
Bud, keep up your openness about your PC as it might save the life of someone you know or will meet someday.
