Howdy Just curious what this exactly entails My husband underwent prostate removal in Dec He was only in pads a week thankfully He went to the six week Psa follow up and made the zero club He came home with samples of Viagra and one that starts with an S. He has an appointment with the specialist in Feb I notice most of you take some prescription daily to aid with regaining an erection. We have made a stab at it once and he claims he does notice pressure in the morning. I am encouraged but I know things will take time His dr mentioned a class and I can attend too? Just curious your experiences with ED therapy.

Staxyn, perhaps? It is the same ingredient as Levitra, but slowly dissolved under the tongue.

I did not have any sort of class, just discussions with my uro/surgeon. He put me on a daily dose of Cialis, starting about 3 months, a little more, after surgery. He has provided samples of Viagra and Levitra, but there isn't much to report. Perhaps your uro has group meetings. I would doubt that partners would be invited, as the discussions could be very brutally open. I certainly would not have that sort of talk with an unknown man and his wife in the room. Even in my support groups, the ladies retire to another room for such things. We have these conversations here, but there is an automatic protection in the internet that would not exist in person.

A reaction to an ED drug could take months or years to show any effect, so it is very early.

He said his Dr encouraged be to come with him. I was not able to make it to the 6 week follow up obviously or I would have asked more questions. We are not strangers to Viagra unfortunately. We have an age difference and that caused some ED issues but 10 years later we have not needed them. Thank you for the information I find myself getting depressed reading about PC and the side effects so it's hard to get on the forum and research this.

I suspect that the classes may be presentations, rather than discussion-oriented. That would be embarassing for some, but at least not put anyone in the spotlight.

I have been to meetings of that type, but I would think that Dr. John Mulhall's book "Saving Your Sex Life" (2010) is a good primer you might want to read first.

How old is husband? What type of procedure did he have?

I've been taking 25 mg of Viagra every day since 2 months after my surgery and 50 mg when I want to be active?

I had my prostate removed at Sloan Kettering in NYC, and followed their rehab protocol per Dr. Mulhall's video.

I get good results with the pills and after 2 years I'm starting to get results without pills.

My ED rehab program had me on a nightly low dose (25mg) of Viagra 2 weeks before surgery. Then after discharge from surgery I resumed the nightly 25mg. After the catheter was removed, I took 25mg 6 nights per week and 100mg once per week. The 100mg dose was taken in an effort to get an erection. When I went back to see him 6 weeks post surgery, I was only getting 5 out of 10 so he started me on injections of Trimix. My instructions now are to inject 2 to 3 times per week and to take the 25mg of Viagra on the other nights.

According to my doc you need to be 6 or better for 10 to 15 minutes, 2 to 3 times per week; this brings fresh blood and oxygen into the penis which helps rehabilitate the erectile tissue.

And you have to be patient, the healing takes time. It can vary widely, but in general, ED issues can take 18 months to 2 years to resolve.

Congrats on the zero club. Your husband has had excellent results so far. Good luck with the ED rehab part.

He is 59. I expect it to be a lengthy recovery and being cancer free is the priority. We had great results with Viagra many moons ago so it will be interesting too see how things go. Again we haven't experimented much at all since the surgery When you work ten hour days and have children fairly young I see this planning thing being a disaster. I am encouraged that he is encouraged with his progress. We use the Central Texas urology center Anthony Balchunas will be the ED specialist. Pills before the procedure is interesting. This is the first I have heard of that
