Sorry for a hypothetical question - the surgery is 2.5 weeks away and I am just thinking about a lot of "what if" cases.
Based on everything that I have read so far - the cancer tumors are "hard" - so if they take up some fixed space inside the prostate, and if the patient takes prostate enlargement drugs, and effectively reduces the surface area, - is that not going to increase the chances of it going outside the capsule?
When the high PSA was diagnosed in April / May of last the primary care doc told us that it can be enlarged prostate or infection or prostate cancer. He gave ciplox for 30 days, then avodart for several months - and then finally the biopsy was done in Jan.
So - in all those months, avodart reduced the prostate size - just thinking out loud here - does that mean the overall area was reduced and the cells have to travel less now to get "outside"?
