Welcome Dick,
I developed ED in 2004 following my open Radical Prostatectomy.
I experienced a variety of negative emotions: anger, frustration,
shame for no longer being able to satisfy my wife of over 40 years.
Basically I felt my manhood slipping away and began to withdraw from any emotional contact with my wife. It was a very dark time for both of us and my self-esteem was virtually non-existent.
I tried pills (Viagra, etc.), VED, MUSE, and even injections but for me none of these worked satisfactorily.
Finally, I was implanted in December 2007 with an IPP (Inflatable Penile Prosthesis) and, thankfully, this corrected my ED and restored the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.
Also, after 3+ years of suffering with ED and its devastating side effects, my self-esteem went through the roof.
Dick, many men on the HW site have posted very positive results with injections (Trimix, etc.). You should see whether this is satisfactory for you before considering an IPP. Just my opinion.
The IPP is usually for men like myself, who have not responded
satisfactorily to other ED Treatment Modalities.
The bottom line is that there is a very high likelihood that your ED can be corrected. Hang in there!!
Hope this has been of some help.
Best of luck,
Bob
