Alf,
Ooo... I like the way you think. I can envision a model that comprehends the value of life, erections, and continence, and personalizes their importance to the individual. A 30 year old might value erections almost as high as life. At 75 that might not be so important and incontinence dominates. . A suicidal individual might not value life so high.
We need a way of characterizing and relating the three variables. For the purpose of this discussion I will suggest, "money" We might also try "life hours" or "LF" which is defined as money/ hourly "wage".
Now let's ask some questions and see how the model works. At 30, how much would I pay to have the capability of having an erection. A lot. What is my wage rate? low. So, how long would it take me to earn that? a long time. Ask the same questions at age 75. I wouldn't pay so much, the wage rate is higher so the life hours are lower. What about
incontinence? similar exercise.
Now let's look at the value of life. Am I happy? How much would someone have to pay me to put a bullet in my head or take a bottle of pills. Very high! Another person might be very unhappy and their number would be low. In fact we read about
it every day where some people do it for free - suicide. then we look at the treatment options using nomograms to show cost, outcome, and odds. There is plenty of data for this.
The treatment options for an otherwise healthy 30 year old engaged to Adriana Lima will be very different from those offered to an overweight, suicidal 75 year old.
Answer the personality questions, include a few pictures of yourself as well as past and/or current girlfriends and the model will suggest the best treatment options.
I can see a need here. Maybe we should apply for an NIH grant to pull this all together.
Alf, Golfnooch Are you in? I'll get started on the paperwork. ;-)
Jeff
