Well, once again another kick in the gut PSA result.
It moved from 1.97 2 months ago to 3.43.
This is not good at all.
My doubling time remains 3 months, perhaps even less.
There is one thing: I did the PSA 5 days after having gall bladder surgery. I'm not sure if that influences the PSA. I doubt it (I have no prostate to inflame). But, I'll ask.
Next step: consultations with Dr. Hussain at Umich on 3/5 and Dr. Lam on 3/7 via telephone. Unless they say the surgery might have impacted things and to check again in a month, it looks like I'll be starting HT very shortly.
On the positive side, I saw my surgeon today (actually, his PA). They removed the bandages from the gall bladder surgery. There are self-dissolving stiches.
Everything looks good. The pathology report was gross: words like gangarenous, necrotizing, etc. But also no evidence of malignancy. I didn't expect PC in that area, but of course it is nice to know for sure.
