10 month avastin and adt2 clinical trial ph2 update

Hi all

Well 10 months since end of chemo and 13 months since last lupron shot.

psa 0.02

My oncologist thinks the psa results are primarily my personal reaction to the adt2 and not the Avastin.

Avastin with chemo( tox,)trial results showed no increase in survival just an increase of pfs (progression free survival).

Hope the psa stays low, it was 3 years the first time around.

Hope the estrogen therapy helps with the side effects of my low testosterone.

Hey Gerry,

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I'm your biggest supporter as I'm on the same trial. I'm absolutely thrilled you have such wonderful results.

Just yesterday, I had my first followup appt at Johns Hopkins after the medication phase (hopefully they will email my blood results today - I'll post 'em when I get 'em)

I asked my oncologist about the other Johns Hopkins patients on this trial and, although he was very non-specific, he said that the Avastin arm appeared to have lower PSAs & slower rise after treatment (n=8, 4 in each arm - so it's not very conclusive).

One thing he said about my case - he was very impressed with how quickly my PSA went and stayed undetectable (10.8 to 0 in 9 weeks - click on my PCa History image below). How fast did your PSA drop?

Okay, I just heard from my Clinical Trials nurse and my PSA remains undectable. Woo! Hoo!

Next tests are in early June. I'll report back then.
