Some more info on this USPIO method: (Ultra Small Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide)
(Page 63 Dr. Strum's book A Primer on Prostate Cancer 2nd edition): In the assessment of lymph nodes measuring 5-10 (mm), USPIO has an accuracy rate of 98.9% with sensitivity of 96.4%, a specificity of 99.3%. Even for lymph nodes <5mm, USPIO was found to have a specificity of 98.1%. (I don't know how all those nuiances are currently defined, but sure sounds decent). I do know of a guy whom had various other scans prior and couldn't find anything (he had incureable psa numbers), well he did USPIO by Dr. Bravo and found 2 definitive lymph nodes and he was going to get them treated, last I heard.

(not alot of stuff easily found on USPIO, it was mentioned in Dr. Strum's book of like 7-8 yrs. ago, he also mentioned neutron and proton radiations with some interesting info on them...ahead of the curve...his knowledge on PCa is kind of epic)
Really sad Combidex was shot down for FDA approval here in the USA, and in the Netherlands Combidex has halted operations (was found as an excellent source, John T herein used it and did many types of scans here in the U.S., they were inferior compared to this method).
