I lost a longtime friend this weekend

I had referenced his journey with PC here a few times. His PSA hovered around 15 for many years. It was it his third or fourth biopsy that finally showed signs of cancer. He opted for radiation at the age of 71 (four years ago) in part due to both of his parents were still alive and in their late 90’s. He kind of had hoped he’d live as long as they did. He pretty much recovered from prostate cancer.

It was liver cancer that did him in. His younger sister died from the same thing ten years ago.

The only slightly good news is that Don outlived his mother who passed two months ago.

Rest in peace Uncle Donnie.

Steve, I also lost a good friend of 20+ years to liver cancer in February. He was also battling colon cancer. Condolences shared.

what a great loss for you. It hurts when you loose someone so close to you. I lost my next door neighbor to PCa last October and watched him go through his four years of dealing with his PCa then I got blessed with my G9 a year ago. i find myself still wanting to walk over and talk to him, get his advice and just talk. I really miss him.

I grieve for your loss of Uncle Donnie. I have a picture of Doug (my former neighbor) in my office and get to look at him everyday and think back on 15 great years of being friends and neighbors. He taught me how to live and die with dignity. My best wishes as you mourn this great loss.
