Had a prostectomy on April 13th, removed catheter on April 20th. Now I am passing blood capsules that look like gel bags that break when they hit my depend. some are pea size to garbanzo bean. Very painful and hard to pass. It makes it difficult to urinate. Is this normal?

That does not sound normal.  It is not unusual to pass small clots, but I've never heard of things that size and painful.  If it is still happening in the morning, I'd suggest giving your surgeon's office a call.  Does not hurt to call them, can be bad to not.

Yes - I think you need to call that in. Doesn't sound right to me.

Thank you. Planned on calling in the morning. My wife and I didn't feel it was right eaither.

For sure, this doesn't seem normal. Let us know what your URO says about this. Did you get your pathology report back? Wishing you a speeding recovery on all fronts.

The random clot is normal. This sounds to be more than that. ALWAYS after surgery, call your doc with any questions. Better safe than sorry.

Welcome to HW. You'll find that many of us are surgery guys (if not also RT), and have likely seen it all. Feel free to ask questions.
