SC - we are using the ice chips as well, but as you said maybe the taste would be worse without it. I was told that it may prevent mouth sores too.

ROUND 3 / DAY 9
A good day today in every way. Less fatigue, good appetite, mouth sores disappeared.
Did lots of reading about
the ASCO meeting and what's on the horizon. Lots of medications look promising. Always looking ahead.

Yay for a good day! I agree, there is a lot of new treatments with promise! I'm so glad that chemo is no longer the treatment of last resort - at least in our cases.
Glad the mouth sores went away!

ROUND 3 / DAY11
Ahhhhh? Another wonderful day. Heading to the beach tomorrow for Fathers Day weekend. Planning on a relaxing weekend with the kids and some friends. Life is good for now.
Silverlace, Seems like the Taxotere pattern is the return of energy around day 10. Hope it's the same for you guys.
Nhwife, normal is good.
David, Yes, it's one day at a time for us.

ROUND 3 / DAY 12
These days just seem to fly by. Can't believe it's already Day 12.
He is feeling great. Can't ask for more then that. Metallic taste was minimal today. Sleep was a "10" last night. He always feels so good when he gets the much needed rest.
David - hope you're feeling well enough to make that lake trip.
Bud - have a wonderful Father's Day.
Looking forward to meeting everyone in person at GFMPH.
Nhwife - how about
something to help him sleep? I myself use meditation tapes. Works every time for me. Just a suggestion.
Wishing everyone a great weekend.

ROUND 3 / DAY 13
A little fatigued today but nothing terrible. Overall a 9.5 day out of 10.
Life continues to be good.
Bud - Saw a really cool remote control helicopter today in a store and thought of you. Hope you've enjoyed the picnic.

9.5 out of 10 - Superb! So glad to hear!
Picnic was great! A beautiful day, hot dogs and hamburgers. Bunch of guys flying planes, chatting about
the hobby and Home Depot, simply enjoying life. No ladies at all, for some reason the hobby does not attract gals.
A small setback, I landed one of my planes in a tree. Really high up. What that means - I have to go to the Hobby Shop (which is even better than Home Depot! Oddly wife was there once and has no plans on ever going back - silly woman!) and get a replacement.
HUGS!

I think the fatigue is cumultive - my husband is having a little trouble shaking it off. He feels fine, just no get up and go.
Hope Day 14 has been splendiforous for your husband and you, celebrating father's day.

ROUND 3 / DAY 14
AGD (another great day). Spent Father's Day with the kids and some close family friends at the beach. Doesn't get any better then that. Just going to enjoy these good days as they are coming one after the other.
Bud, glad you enjoyed the picnic and the flying.
Nhwife, Hope he gets his get up and go back ASAP.

zimac - glad to hear of another good day for your husband
nhwife, i can tell you first hand, that chronic fatigue is very cumlative in how it works in the body, and unfortnately, with true fatigue ,sleep doesn't always remedy the faitgue. been fighting CFS for nearly 12 years now, and the past almost 3 years post SRT has been the roughest. best thing to do is not to fight the faituge when it can be helped ( i know that work and reality can get in the way), but i have learned not to fight the worse of the feeling, but have gotten smarter over the years and know when i need to lay down and rest. i often don't sleep, but i still get the rest off of my feet. it helps.

ROUND 3 / DAY 15
Today was a bit unusual. He slept a good portion of the day. Said he was exhausted. Maybe he exerted himself a little too much on Fathers Day or maybe just the cumulative effect. Mr. Metallic returned as well. Sleep was also an issue last night. Gosh, I thought we were on an upswing, but surprise, surprise, Pca has a mind of its own.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Sorry it's been a little rough. I guess we should expect those days but I am hoping the good ones outnumber the not so good.
I think Monday is a factor, just the stress of wondering and waiting.
Hope today is better!

At least the "good" days seem to be outnumbering the "bad" days for you. The SE's seem to have a mind of their own, don't they? Sometimes mine "take a day off", then "return to work" again. Just gotta roll with it. But those last few days before the new infusion are great, aren't they?
I have mixed feelings of dread and elation the day of infusion. I *KNOW* in my heart how much they are helping to drive the cancer curse from my body, but I can't help but know that I am going to be miserable for a few days into the treatment.

ROUND 3 / DAY 16
We are rolling along. You're right, the good days out weigh the bad. Today was a good day with a full day of work. A tad fatigued when he came home.
We can handle that. Tomorrow we were heading to a Yankee game but with the temperatures heading into the 100's, we may pass on that.
I understand the mixed feelings the day of infusion. I think we all have them. Got to fight the ugly critters.
