I'm thinking of trying the pump for my ED before I go the Trimix route.What is the average price for this product?

I got a medical grade device from Augusta Medical for $495.00. Insurance preaproved it, and is now backing off. I told Augusta that if they don't get the insurance to cover it, as they promised, I am returning it for a full refund.

To answer the other question (that you have not asked)... I have been using the pump 5-6 times a week for about 15 minutes each, pump and release only (tried using it for sex, with poor results). Combined with my daily cialis use, I have seen SOME improvement in my erection. Not quite ready for prime time, but whether it is the pump, the cialis, or just time, this month has shown some promise to me.

Prices are all over the map. If you get a prescription and buy the FDA-approved models, I'd say $500 - $650. My insurance covered most of my cost on that. From what I've seen, insurance does not cover them in a lot of cases.

Several of the guys here have bought various types on the internet or in adult shops for $50-$150. Those won't be covered by insurance, but then you are not expecting them to last forever and have a warranty.

Thanks, I just got off the phone with "liberty Health Living", and they said that my insurance should cover it minus the co-payment.
When I had my cath removed in september,wife and I went to work on waking the little guy up.I got between 50/70% erection not enough for intercourse but then my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer (stage 1).So we put my issue to rest. Now that she has gone through surgery and radiation,we are back to working on my ED.

Something to consider regarding the vacuum pump, from a rehabilitation standpoint:   I’m seeing an ED specialist, who says that vacuum devices do not bring much fresh blood into the penis.   Therefore the oxygen content is not very high, and as a result they do not do a very good job of rehabilitation.   His opinion is it’s ok to use a pump in conjunction with pills and/or injections; just not as the only method of treatment.

Tigerfan, thanks for the input. I had never heard about the oxygen part of the equation. I have only been using the pump in the past because the pills brought side effects (i.e. back ache) that were debilitating.

With Lynn's condition, sex has not been a part of the equation for about 3+ years, so I have only been doing the rehab for health aspects. I may have to re-think the pill part of the equation.

Same here Sonny, but the stuffy nose keeps me awake at nite. BTW, I got mine from Amazon for around $40 and it does the job. I use it for thereapy only, as I am single and alone.

Last year when I could have gotten a VED for nothing from my insurance as my yearly deductibles had been exceeded, my URO would not give me a prescription for the same reasons that Tigerfan points out. This year if I wanted one I would have to pay full price. I tried a cheaper version that I got on the Internet and all it did was suck my balls up the tube and was a waste of the $40 I spent. I wanted to use it to plump up before I injected as Frank Talk.org suggests.

LOL Terry!! Mine will do that also if not positioned just right. Its more scary than painful, plus I start laughing and lose concentration on what I supposed to be doing. Thats why I always have my finger on the QUICK RELEASE! But I have learned that proper position, less lube on the bottom and not going more than 5-7 lbs and I avoid that nitemare.

The ED specialist at my Urologist (i.e. pump salesman) warned me three times about the skin on my scrotum, or my testicles getting sucked in.  I guess it made me careful, because it's never happened.

My insurance covered the full cost of mine at somewhere around $500. I use it for the rehab purposes as others have described though have also been told the same thing Tigerfan mentions that it is not well oxygenated blood. At the same time, insurance covers it because it is an FDA approved rehab method where the pills are not. To get that FDA approval, they had to demonstrate effective value. So the theory is there is some value.

I've tried using the restricting rings to maintain an erection and they are just too painful to enjoy intercourse. So I consider the thing useless for that. Just a rehab tool. Thankfully Viagra is doing the trick for me, so we have that method "when the time is right". Ah, but no erections lasting 4 hours, bogus commercials :)
