It sounds like you made a thoughtful and informed treatment choice, so don't bother second-guessing yourself. Best of luck with your treatment.
I had
open RP and, while surgery is never a picnic, it wasn't bad. Very little pain. The drugs will control the pain very effectively, and you won't need them after a few days. The catheter is a drag, but you'll live through it.
